As Manager, Digital Entertainment and Interactive at the Vancouver Economic Commission, Nancy works strategically to grow the screen-based industry for the City of Vancouver. Her work to strengthen the Vancouver economy included focusing on foreign direct investment and trade as well as promoting Vancouver in foreign markets worldwide. Included in her portfolio are film, television, visual effects and animation, games and mobile entertainment. Additionally, Nancy promotes the City of Vancouver as a world-class destination for business opportunities and a city where industry talent can thrive in the screen-based entertainment sector. With her move to the Vancouver Economic Commission in 2011, Nancy brought with her 20 years of experience in the film and television industry in both production and business development for practical filmmaking, visual effects and animation.
With over 25 years of experience, Shawn Williamson has risen to the forefront of the Canadian film and television industry as a leading independent film and television producer. A native to Vancouver, Shawn began his career as a stage manager at The Arts Club Theatre in 1983 and has since produced live events, live television and television series, as well as feature films.
In 2001, Shawn started Brightlight Pictures and has since been developing, financing, and producing feature films and television series. He has filmed in a variety of international locations, including: Singapore, Croatia, Romania, France, England, Northern Ireland, South Africa, and Australia. FIFTY DEAD MEN WALKING (Ben Kingsley, Jim Sturgess) was produced as a Canada/UK co-production, filmed in Belfast, and opened with a Gala Premier spot at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Shawn executive produced the feature film THE INTERVIEW (Seth Rogen, James Franco) for Columbia Pictures, and HORNS (Daniel Radcliffe), produced in conjunction with Mandalay Pictures and Red Granite Pictures. He also served as a producer on THE COMPANY YOU KEEP (Robert Redford, Shia LaBeouf) with Voltage pictures, 50/50 (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen), THE POSSESSION (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick), WHITE NOISE (Michael Keaton), PASSENGERS (Anne Hathaway, Patrick Wilson), and WICKER MAN (Nicholas Cage).
Shawn is currently producing the second season of the Fox television series WAYWARD PINES (Jason Patric, Hope Davis) and just completed LOOKINGLASS (Robert Kazinsky, Tim DeKay) for 20th Century Fox. Recently, he produced the feature film COLOSSAL (Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis) with Voltage pictures, THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX (Jamie Dornan, Aaron Paul) with Miramax and a remake of ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING for Disney.
Bernie is a two-time Primetime Emmy Award-winning writer, director, and multi-platform storyteller. In 2013 he co-created “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries,” an interactive adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, which earned the first Primetime Emmy Award for a YouTube distributed series. In 2015 he won his second Emmy with the series “Emma Approved,” a five-platform interactive re-imagination of Austen’s novel Emma. In 2014 he was named Creator of the Year by Video Ink News, when he executive produced “Emma Approved”, the gender-bending science drama “Frankenstein, MD” for PBS Digital Studios, and published “The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet” with Simon & Schuster, a book based on the web series based on the book. His most recently co-founded Canvas Media Studios which launched with, “Vanity." A revenge drama set in the world of fashion and beauty. The series was StyleHaul’s first original online series, with Maybelline New York attached as the exclusive sponsor.
With over a decade of experience at the crossroads of TV and digital, Zach has seen the creative media industry from many different angles. At CBC, he oversees the Digital Originals strategy for Scripted and Unscripted programming, developing and commissioning content for all platforms. Prior to starting that new role in late 2015, Zach spearheaded Shaw Media’s first digital-first programming slate, including Global TV special The Second City Project, comedy series But I’m Chris Jericho!, Food Network Canada’s Super Snack Bros., and others. He also delivered successful and award-winning digital products and content associated with the company’s priority linear series, including Big Brother Canada, Vikings, Rookie Blue, Remedy, Yukon Gold, Continuum, Kenny vs. Spenny and Endgame, the latter of which yielded an International Digital Emmy® win in 2012.
Enrique was introduced into the fast pace of the online world early having worked at Chapters Online for their launch and progress into e-commerce. Later, moving onto Universal Music Canada, it served to develop his competencies in the entertainment world. After a time, and an itch, he left to start his own record label Paper Bag Records. The years of entrepreneurship while running his own music company, including the handling the digital and business developmental growth of the organization, proved formative as he furthered his own growth and fed his resolve to keep pushing himself. Since then, he worked with a digital content start up, before moving on to head Dailymotion’s Canadian operations where he is now. Enrique has had the pleasure of working with a variety of partners from independent web producers to the NFL (signing the league to a European content license deal), he looks forward to increasing the footprint for Dailymotion in Canada and beyond.
Selena has more than 10 years of experience in film, television and digital production, as well as creating financial and operational business models in tech and entertainment. At dotstudioPRO, she deals with all aspects of the business and manages dotstudioPRO’s financials, as content creation. Paskalidis is a highly accomplished filmmaker, and worked her way up very quickly in Canada’s film, television and digital industries. She started her career as Head of Business Affairs in long form drama, and moved effortlessly in to development before taking the reins in production. In 2013, Paskalidis has worked with companies such as the Food Network, History Channel, Women’s Network, National Film Board of Canada and the Discovery Network. She has also developed and produced feature length films in conjunction with Telefilm Canada.
Andra is the CEO of two private funds supporting the Canadian digital media, television and film industries: the Independent Production Fund which invests in drama series created for digital platforms; and the COGECO Program Development Fund for the development of digital drama and production of television drama. She was the founding Executive Director of the Bell Fund (1997-2014) which supports interactive digital media projects associated with Canadian television programs. Previously, she was the founding Executive Director of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television producing the annual Genie and Gemini Awards (now the Canadian Screen Awards).
Carter is a co-founder and the CEO of JTS.TV - Just The Story, a premium digital network distributed via Roku, apps, the JTS.TV website, and numerous Smart TV platforms (with many more in development). He has worked in the entertainment industry for over a decade as an actor, writer, and producer. His clients have produced numerous feature and short films, digital series, and new media projects. The reputation and relationships forged through the Carter Mason Group laid the foundation for a creator-friendly business model to gain immediate acceptance by the independent television community.
Melissa is the head of series and current scripted development, while overseeing all aspects of series and pilot production for New Form Digital. With an extensive background in both digital and traditional media, Schneider bridges the gap by working closely with digital and established talent to develop episodic and serialized stories that will resonate with audiences on emerging digital platforms. In little over a year at New Form, she has developed and launched 25 pilots, with 18 series orders launching over 2015/2016. She executive produced Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures, a co-production with The Jim Henson Creature Shop, featuring Chris Kendall, Grace Helbig, Mamrie Hart, Hannah Hart, PewdiePie, Patrick Stewart and Alfred Molina.
Tyler is an award winning writer and director who has screened numerous short films at festivals around the world. In additional to his narrative filmmaking Tyler Funk is the founder of North Of Now, a digital production company producing branded digital content and broadcast commercials. With multiple USA broadcast ads and millions of views on YouTube North Of Now has won multiple awards and produced over 40 pieces of content for major brands. Tyler Funk is the creator and showrunner of the White Ninja digital series. The world’s first narrative Vine series starring Paul Scheer.
Andrew Williamson is a seasoned producer and director who started OFF ISLAND in 1999 to create content with purpose. He produced Gastown Gamble for OWN Canada, and executive produced the critically acclaimed docu-series Emergency Room: Life & Death at VGH for The Knowledge Network. He directed the comedy short The Green Film which was released online to celebrate Earth Day. Williamson’s previous projects include High Moon, a pilot co-venture with Universal Cable Productions and Executive Producer Bryan Fuller, Sk8 Life which premiered at the Sundance International Film Festival, as well as The Mountie in association with Telefilm Canada. His thirteen-part web-series for the Yukon and Federal Governments launched in New York’s Times Square.
Andrew was recently VP Production & Digital for Lark Productions where he produced digital and social media campaigns for televisions series including Motive (CTV), Emergency Room: Life & Death at VGH, Gastown Gamble, The Real Housewives of Vancouver (Shaw) and Mom's A Medium (Corus). Andrew is the founder of Crazy8s and was previously Head of Development for Keatley Entertainment and Director of Industrial Relations at the Canadian Media Producers Association.
Jameson is an award winning actor and producer who, along with David Kaye, founded Whiskaye Films in 2008 while attending the University of British Columbia. He has directed music videos for local and international artists including Anami Vice, The Simpson Brothers Band, and his video for Fake Shark Real Zombie’s single Girls can be seen on Much Music. In 2014 he directed “The Price is Precise”, a sketch written by 3-time Canadian Comedy Award Winning sketch duo Peter N’ Chris for internet comedy giant CollegeHumor.

Sandra landed her first job in TV after attending a ‘Writing for Daily Drama’ course at the Film and TV University in Babelsberg (Germany) and hence developed drama series across all platforms for leading daily drama producer UFA Serial Drama.
Before moving to Zurich (Switzerland) end of 2014, Sandra was living and working in London (UK) for four years. She worked as a Digital Producer for football YouTube Channel ‘Copa90’ and as a Social Media Producer on TV shows such as ‘Downton Abbey’ (NBCU), ‘Sherlock’ (BBC), ‘Made in Chelsea’ (Channel 4), and ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire?’ (Sony).
She blogs on a monthly basis for industry blog MIPBlog und the corporate arvatoBlog. She has also been a panellist at industry events such as MIPTV, MIPCOM, BAFTA and SWIM talking about digital innovations and Social TV.
