2017 MCsVancouver Web Fest was honored to have the following MCs for the 2017 festival:
In the early 90's, after completing an incredibly useful degree in acting from UBC, Mike Cavers made a splash in action series Highlander plus some pretty terrible local commercials. He then took a brief hiatus from TV only to return to that glamorous word in his underwear last year with back-to-back feature roles in Untold Stories of the ER. This did not phase Mike in the least. As owner & creative director of The Character Guys Inc., Mike Cavers spends most of his time creating comedy shows and characters for high-profile private and public events throughout North America. But fortunately not in his underwear. That means a growing inventory of awesome costumes and a lot of massively talented friends to pitch in when his left eye starts twitching. Mike has also had the good fortune of falling in with fellow fools, Nick Harrison and Neil Every to co-produce and co-star in the Leo Award-winning comedy web series Fools For Hire, based very loosely on the insanity of his questionable profession. Stay tuned for new episodes to be released after the festival!
Neil is a 20 year veteran of the B.C. film and tv industry. Following many years in the camera department, Neil successfully transitioned to directing, screenwriting and story consulting. He has three produced feature credits, has directed multiple award-winning shorts as well as the web series Fools For Hire. For the last few years Neil has also been working in the gaming industry with writing credits on Dead Rising 3 and Shadow of Mordor. He is currently Narrative Designer at IGG Canada while continuing to work freelance as a videographer.
